The Mirrors- A Green Dream

Recorded when Greg Ashley (singer and now Gris Gris main man) was still using a fake ID to get the latest and greatest mind-twisting gonzo to come through Texas. For fans of Pink Floyd (Syd Barret-era) and the Electric Prunes.

    • Upcoming release from Greg Ashley:
The Painted Garden, out March 6 2007

Greg Ashley, the mastermind behind The Gris Gris and The Mirrors, is going solo for the first time since the 2003 masterpiece Medicine Fuck Dream. The result is his most ambitious, textured, beautiful and dark record to date: The Painted Garden. While being more warm and intimate than last year's Gris Gris wonder For The Season, it still reflects the same vision behind the band's greatness. Partially written in a burnt out ghetto in Oakland, partially written in his remote cabin in Kosse, TX, the Painted Garden was completely produced and written by Ashley (except for half of one song, which was co-written by an Oakland chanteuse) and 80% completely played by him as well. This record is an example of a true vision realized, and puts Ashley right up there with the great musical minds of the day.

    • Upcoming release from Paula Frazer and Tarnation: Now It's Time, out March 6 2007

After nearly a decade, classic 4AD band Tarnation, led by the angelic Paula Frazer, has returned with a brand new studio album. Inspired by events that happened during one summer in San Francisco, Now It's Time is a heartbreakingly beautiful testament to love and to loss, with a touch of redemption at the end. Like classic Tarnation, Frazer blends her alternative country roots with dark, psychedelic tones and warm instrumental accompaniments that perfectly frame her ethereal voice. Now It's Time is a return to form for those who have missed Tarnation, and an incredible starter for those who are beginners.

  • Re-release of Greg Ashley's “Medicine Fuck Dream” available now! Newly re-designed for it's vinyl packaging.
